Construction of; 1 – Mid-Yanga works accessed via Bronzewing Drive 2 – Upper Yanga works accessed by Waugorah Road and 3 – Waugorah hardstand and pipeline
Project goals
Yanga National Park – Civil Works (NPWS Owner) is part of the wider SLAM (Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism) Program to improve environmental water flows.
SDLAM seeks to address both current critical water shortages, as well as establish infrastructure and processes which ensure the future environmental and economic sustainability of the Murray-Darling Basin. The objective of the SDLAM Program is to achieve similar or improved environmental outcomes for rivers, wetlands and wildlife using less water as part of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. Project goals are to,
- improve the efficiency of how water is delivered (for example, building and improving water management structures
- deliver more efficient water use practises to save water for the environment
- remove constraints (and physical barriers) that impact the ability to deliver water into the Murray Darling Basin and where it is need most
Scope
The Yanga National Park Supply Measure Project consists of a package of works to be carried out at Yanga National Park, on land reserved under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 (NPW Act), to support the outcomes of the Basin Plan.
The works would involve replacing several existing water supply and flow-regulating structures within the Yanga National Park. The infrastructure is owned and operated by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services (NPWS), with the exception of the 1AS and 1ES environmental regulators, which are owned and operated by WaterNSW (seperately tendered).

Portion 1 – Mid-Yanga works accessed via Bronzewing Drive and Hamptons Bank Trail
- Narkungerie Creek Regulator: Package YNP2 - Work Item 3
- Twin Bridges North gate replacement: Package YNP3 - Work Item 9
- Twin Bridges South gate replacement: Package YNP3 - Work Item 10
Portion 2 – Upper Yanga works accessed by Waugorah Road and various in-Park access tracks
- Waugorah Lake inlet regulator: Package YNP2 - Work Item 4
- Waugorah Creek block bank regulator: Package YNP2 - Work Item 5
- Bruton’s regulator gate replacement: Package YNP3 - Work Item 8
- Shaw’s regulator gate replacement: Package YNP3 - Work Item 7
Portion 3 – Waugorah hardstand and pipeline accessed via Waugorah Road and Shaw’s East trail: Package YNP2 - Work Item 6
