Waihoehoe Road Upgrade : Construction

NZTA is inviting construction contractors with NZTA Prequalification Levels 3C (Bridge Construction) and 4B (Construction), who are interested the Waihoehoe Road Upgrade: Construction to participate in this tender opportunity.

The upgraded Waihoehoe Road includes a new vehicle bridge over the railway line, providing improved access to Drury Station. The existing Great South Road and Waihoehoe Road roundabout, and Kath Henry Lane intersection will both be upgraded and signalisation to improve safety and operation.

The Waihoehoe Road Upgrade: Construction comprise:

• Demolition of existing buildings at 232 Great South Road

• Construction of a new road broad bridge over the North Island Main Trunk on Waihoehoe Road, adjacent to the existing bridge, offline and raised to allow sufficient clearance for electrification and future rail tracks

• Construction of new signalisation intersections on Waihoehoe Road at Great South Road / Norrie Road intersection, and Kath Henry Lane Intersection

• Demolition of existing bridge over the NIMT and removal of the temporary hoarding

Tenderer’s Briefing : A tenderer’s briefing will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday 29 October. A copy of the presentation will also be made available after the briefing.

Site Visit : A site visit will be held at 2pm Thursday 30 Oct. To attend, please register your interest by contacting davey.chang@nzta.govt.nz by 10am Tuesday 29 Oct. Attendees are to meet the Design Consultant GHD at 2 Tui Street, Drury.
