The Shire of Boddington invites expressions of interest from qualified and experienced professionals to serve as the Independent Presiding Member and Independent Deputy Presiding Member of the Shire’s Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.
About the Committee
The Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee plays a pivotal role in supporting Council’s commitment to sound financial management and effective risk oversight. The Committee provides independent assurance and advice on:
- The integrity of financial reporting
- The application of accounting policies
- Assessment of risk management and internal controls
- Compliance with the Local Government Act 1995 (WA) and associated regulations
Members of the Committee are expected to exercise due care and diligence, bringing their expertise to guide the Shire in maintaining high standards of governance and performance.
Who Should Apply?
To be considered for either of the Independent positions, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Knowledge and experience in statutory financial reporting, risk management and audit principles (internal and external)
- Strong communication skills
- Relevant skills and experience in providing independent expert advice
To be eligible as an Independent Member, applicants must meet these criteria:
- Must not be employed by the Shire of Boddington
- Must not be an elected member of the Shire of Boddington or any other local government.
What We Offer
The role includes remuneration aligned with determinations by the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal for Band 4 local governments. The Council has set the fee up to $200 per individual per meeting.
Reimbursement of time, travel and any other incidentals may be provided by the Shire of Boddington, as prescribed by the relevant Salaries and Allowances Tribunal determination.
