Tender Description

The Master Clock system currently supports 2,500 1 Hz square-wave Impulse driven Slave Clocks throughout APH. The cabling to the clock also supports LED Division Light signalling in the same cable (separate circuits).

Below is a breakdown of the areas/sections within the Clock system, showing Clock drivers and the number of clocks in each area:

a. House of Representatives (12 drivers servicing 830 Slave Clocks)

b. Senate (12 drivers servicing 720 Slave Clocks)

c. Ministerial (12 drivers servicing 640 Slave Clocks)

d. Cabinet 1 driver servicing 6 Slave Clocks)

e. Central Equipment Area (CEA) (11 drivers servicing 304 Slave Clocks)

Please note: Clocks may be up to ~800m from the distribution driver.

It should be noted that the clocks are wired in a tree and branch parallel structure.

Clocks receive a +/-24V castle step pulse waveform per second to drive the hands.

Each clock is custom fitted with 2 led lights to alert Parliamentarians their attendance is required in either chamber. The control of the led modules is beyond the scope of this RFI.

The current fleet of clocks are available in three different diameters and all clocks (regardless of diameter) should be cosmetically consistent (i.e. font type, hand size, scale, etc).

Clocks must be flush mounted against the wall. Please see attached technical requirements documents for further detail about clock mechanisms and bodies.
