Hire of Plant, Trucks & Equipment

City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking tender submissions for the casual hire of various items of plant and equipment during the period 1 January 2026 to 30 June 2028.

Mobile plant is equipment that is self-propelled and is ordinarily under the direct control of a vehicle-mounted operator, including (without limitation) earthmoving machinery (e.g. rollers, dozers, graders, scrapers, bobcats) and which requires either full or conditional registration for operation on New South Wales public roads.

Trucks, being vehicles commonly known as such, require full registration for operation on New South Wales public roads, which, for this Specification, are typically tipper bodied or other load carrying vehicles.1 January 2026 to 30 June 2028

Minor plant which is typically either hand-operated or stationary mechanical equipment, but also includes certain types of site facilities and traffic management devices.
