Tender Description

This Universal Aftercare activity seeks to establish two primary aftercare services in Mount Barker and Mount Gambier, with a secondary service in Murray Bridge and/or surrounding regions. The inclusion of outreach where appropriate will extend the access of aftercare service delivery to surrounding regions.

Aftercare services are non-clinical services that provide responsive follow up of people after they have experienced a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis. Aftercare promotes safe living by keeping people at higher risk of suicide connected with support services and networks and reduces their suicidal risk.

Aftercare services must be inclusive, holistic and responsive to any person needing support, regardless of gender, age, sexuality, religion, ethnicity, disability, impairment, and culture. Access to aftercare services is identified as a core priority in the National Suicide Prevention Strategy 2025-2035. Services must operate in line with the National Agreement on Closing the Gap and priority reforms. This includes supporting shared decision making with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and community controlled-organisations.

The successful applicant is expected to actively collaborate with Country SA PHN, SA Health, including Local Health Networks (LHN), people with lived experience, and other key stakeholders in the ongoing co-design of the service model to be reflective of the community's need and context of rurality.

The project timeline will see the successful applicant work towards commencing service delivery by March 2026, or earlier where possible.

Activities must be delivered in the following locations:

- Mount Barker, South Australia

- Murray Bridge (and/or surrounding regions), South Australia

- Mount Gambier, South Australia
