BACKGROUND TO THIS REQUEST

RMIT requires the establishment of a comprehensive Laundry Services contract, underpinned by a formal service agreement with clearly defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), service levels, and compliance obligations. The selected supplier must deliver high-quality, reliable laundry services at competitive pricing, ensuring value for money while maintaining full compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and guidelines specific to each faculty and service area.

The supplier will be expected to provide regular, scheduled laundry services aligned with the needs of various RMIT College departments. Services must meet or exceed hygiene and cleanliness standards required by applicable regulatory bodies, including but not limited to healthcare and laboratory environments. Certification of services, including hospital-grade cleaning and decontamination certificates, is essential for areas that handle sensitive materials and health-related equipment.

 SCOPE OF REQUIREMENTS

  •  Seeking supplier who can provide STEM College with appropriate, prompt and certified laundry services.
  •  Looking for a supplier who not only offers laundry services of all garments as outlined in laundry requirements spreadsheet, but who can also offer rental and repair of garments.
  •  If possible, supplier can provide STEM College stakeholders with storage solution of their garments.
  •  Where required, supplier must be able to provide decontamination certificates to prove cleanliness of garments.
  •  Supplier must be able to provide laundry services to meet Australian Standards and any other requirement as outlined in the laundry requirements spreadsheet.

Contract Service Levels

What are the SLAs and KPIs (where applicable)?

  •  SLA – collection and delivery of laundry will be outlined in a schedule (date, day, time) and circulated to all stakeholders, KPI – 95% of the time the schedule must be met byt the supplier.
  •  SLA – Standard ISO 9001 (certified process), KPI – 100% of the time this requirement must be met.
  •  SLA – AS/NZS 2243.2010, KPI – 100% of the time this requirement must be met.
  •  SLA – OGTR regulations regarding the level of cleaning of every garment, KP – 100% of the time this requirement must be met.
  •  SLA – For relevant gowns, cleaning standards must be clean room compatible, KPI – 100% of the item this requirement must be met.
  •  SLA – all garments will be folded and returned to stakeholders in the designated laundry bag, KPI – 100%
  •  SLA – all garments will be sorted into sizes, prior to being folded and packed into laundry bags, KPI – 100%
