This contract is for street sweeping services for all local, arterial roads, shop fronts and car parks within the City of Whitehorse.

The current contract with Citywide for the first five-year term ends on 8 January 2026. There is an option to extend the contract for a further two years.

The preliminary assessment was that the current contract be extended for a further two years, to 8 January 2028. The contractor is performing well, and based on the last tender there was only small variances in costs for another contractor.

Citywide advised for the contract to be extended there would need to be an increase in price of 18%. Considering the substantial increase, it is now recommended that the services be retendered to test in the open market what the best value is for Council.

It is anticipated that the cost of the service will increase with the new contract.
