This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
This grant will support continuity of culturally safe aged care services through a transition period in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in South Australia.
The grant objectives are to:
- provide transition funding to Australian Regional and Remote Community Services Limited to ensure culturally safe aged care services are delivered without interruption to older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in and around the APY Lands,
- undertake maintenance to existing buildings and purchase of necessary equipment, upgrade Security and IT Systems, and
- Enter into new vehicle leasing arrangements to establish a reliable fleet.
The intended outcomes are to:
- ensure Australian Regional and Remote Community Services Limited can deliver essential, culturally safe aged care services to older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the APY Lands without interruption, and
- ensure continued access and delivery of high quality, culturally safe aged care to vulnerable older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people following the transition of aged care services from a previous service provider to Australian Regional and Remote Community Services Limited.

The eligible organisation was determined as the most suitable organisation to assume responsibility of the aged care services in the APY Lands of South Australia. The organisation has extensive experience in the delivery of aged care services and is a current NATSIFAC provider providing NATSIFAC Program services in Nhulunbuy, Docker River, Katherine and Mutitjulu in the Northern Territory.
Due to the extremely thin market, the eligible organisation was identified as the only alternate service provider with the required knowledge and experience available to deliver aged care services in these remote locations.
