Tender ID: 590740
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Mount Buller and Mount Stirling Resorts are home to over 100km of quality cross-country trails, including 40km of singletrack and 11km of gravity/downhill trails. Mount Buller has been operating as a downhill venue since the 1980s and currently features five gravity trails, including a dedicated flow trail and a number of downhill trails, from easy to advanced.
The cross-country trails at Mount Buller and Mount Stirling were designed and built in the late 2000s and early 2010s, offering a variety of technical features and obstacles, ranging in altitude from 600m – 1,700m and guaranteeing incredible views of the amazing alpine environment. The cross-country trails range from beginner to advanced, however due to the naturally steep and varied terrain, most are suitable for intermediate-advanced riders.
World Trail Pty Ltd (WT) was engaged by Alpine Resorts Victoria (ARV) in February 2020 to undertake ground truthing of five proposed new mountain bike (MTB) trails located at Mt Buller. Subsequently, Alpine Resorts Victoria was successful in obtaining grant funding to construct the five new mountain bike trails.
This tender is for the successful contractor to construct five new mountain bike trails, which will fill in some crucial gaps in the trail network and broaden the appeal for people to visit the Mount Buller and Mount Stirling Resorts and the broader region, while at the same time, provide new mountain biking opportunities suitable for novices and families, a target demographic that has not traditionally been well catered for in the resort.
The Principal invites the Tenderer to submit a Tender for the Mt Buller MTB Trail Network Optimisation project.
