Tender Description

Introduction

Deakin University's (the University) innovation and excellence in both education and research generate ideas that transform lives and communities. The University aims to be Australia's most progressive and responsive university, leading in blending digital capability with our distinctive campus precincts. We leverage strong partnerships to maximise the social, cultural and economic impact we deliver regionally, nationally and globally.

Deakin 2030 - Ideas to Impact is the University's plan for realising the best future for our communities. Through innovation and excellence in education and research we generate ideas that enhance social, cultural, economic and environmental well-being.

The University has a total enrolment of 58,853 students, with an EFTSL (Equivalent full time student load) of 38,199 across national and international campuses.

Curriculum Information Management

The University's current curriculum information management process is ad-hoc, on a faculty-by-faculty basis, relying on a variety of solutions and tools including spreadsheets, paper forms, Word documents, email and applications.

The absence of an integrated curriculum information management system (CIMS) results in a high degree of process variation, administrative overhead, and challenges in supporting request for compliance evidence. The lack of a modern technology solution also impacts the student experience, student self-service and course advising.

A CIMS has been identified as an enabling tool that is critical to the effectiveness of the Education and Employability Guiding Plan and Course Strategy implementation at the University, facilitating prompt and informed responses to market demand, the design of curriculum aligned with course strategy, and enabling assurance of learning.

Invitation

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to allow the University to gain knowledge of curriculum management offerings to support future decision making.

Nothing in this Invitation is to be construed as creating a binding contract for the provision of the services, express or implied, between the University and any Proponent until the University and a Proponent enter a final and binding contract.

No representation made by or on behalf of the University in relation to the Invitation (or its subject matter) will be binding on the University unless that representation is expressly incorporated into any contract(s) ultimately entered into between the University and a Proponent.
