Key duties and responsibilities

  • Clarify business strategy - Determine the impact of change and translate priorities into actionable initiatives, clearly defined investments and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain a clear framework of end-to-end services and strategies to optimise end user outcomes, business responsiveness, and cost benefits.
  • Maximise business and IT alignment - Reimagine technologies to achieve business objectives, drive innovation, and maximise the value of IT investments, ensuring minimal duplication of activity with IT Enterprise Architects.
  • Develop and maintain a suite of relevant artefacts including but not limited to those outlined below.
  • Provide business architecture leadership in reviewing, redefining, and embedding service capabilities within the Commonwealth Aged Care service and digital landscape.
  • Work directly with business Executive and teams to align solutions within a reform context to translate strategy into business results by clarifying business priorities, optimising operating models, and maximising business and IT alignment.
  • Work closely with the IT Enterprise Architect, supporting use of relevant strategic artefacts, such as reference architecture, strategic product planning, and product design. The role will support clear separation of function with Business Analysts and the Business Change office.
  • Utilize expertise in business architecture frameworks, methodologies, and tools, with a focus on standards like TOGAF. Employ strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess existing/proposed business processes and systems. The Business Architect must develop, contribute to, and maintain a range of artefacts including but not limited to:

  • Service Models
  • Solution and standards
  • Business Partners
