Tender ID: 590497
Tender Details
Tender Description
Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to define, collate and display key and standard information on structural assets in Australia and New Zealand.
This project will create the following data benefits:
- Standardised information necessary for structural asset management.
- Enables national/state statistics, reporting and benchmarking.
- Provides transparency of assets across Australia and New Zealand.
- Improves accountability for public transport agencies (investment), use data to justify funding.
- Improved foundations for optimised and risk-informed asset management decisions.
- Enables informed and targeted research.
- Assists in bridge inventory understanding across Australia and New Zealand.
Scope:
This project requires the creation of a standard dataset and a proof-of-concept dashboard to capture and display high-level information and performance-related data on bridges managed by Austroads transport agency members to facilitate a nationally consistent approach to managing and reporting on structures.
The project will review best practice and create a standard data schema that is acceptable to each jurisdiction. This will form the basis of allowing the data to be presented in a dashboard format.
Data may include minimum levels of asset information such as location, geometry, construction type (e.g. family groups), age, design class, and materials, along with high-level information for structural asset condition and performance for benchmarking and investment purposes – such as financial value and maintenance expenditure.
The consultant will develop a dataset specification and a proof-of-concept dashboard similar to the InfoBridge website published by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the National Bridge Inventory standardised approach.
This project extends on the work captured in the Austroads Engineering Guideline to Bridge Asset Management and the Austroads Road Asset Data Standard project, and will inform works associated with the National Automated Access System.
The scope of structural assets to be captured includes bridges and major culverts. The scope excludes the following structural asset types (at this stage): tunnels, retaining walls, and gantries.
Deliverables:
This project will produce the following deliverables:
- Database with collated information from transport agencies.
- Proof-of-concept dashboard.
- Research report with stakeholder findings, proof-of-concept, and future recommendations.
- Webinar.
- Project data with populated metadata spreadsheet.
- Data specification with rationale for the data set and data formats, and data definition.
