Hindmarsh Outdoor Pools are planning to open on 15 November 2025 for the summer season! If you’re interested in a role as a lifeguard, submit an expression of interest form online at https://form.jotform.com/252008741542855 and you will be notified when applications are open.

After seeking feedback from pool users, Council has made a few changes to Hindmarsh Outdoor Pools’ services and policies for the upcoming season. The changes include amended opening hours, changing the way hours are extended when it’s hot, improved communication and availability of information around pool opening times, and a closure day that enables planned maintenance of pool facilities.

2025/2026 Services and Policies Summary

Extended Hours

Council will endeavour to extend pool opening hours when the temperature is predicted to be over 30 degrees at the usual time of closing.

Council will review temperature predictions and publish anticipated extended opening hours on Facebook prior to 12pm and will also publish any changes or cancellation to extended hours on Facebook in real time.

If there is inadequate demand or staffing unavailability on any given day, we will publish this information on our Hindmarsh Outdoor Pools Facebook page. For any anticipated use in extended hours periods, we advise users to call Council to confirm opening hours for that day - we'll publish a phone number on our website and Facebook page for this purpose prior to the start of the season.

Minimum Opening Temperature

If the maximum forecast temperature is predicted to be below 24ºc at the Rainbow Weather station as per the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, the facility may be closed at the manager’s discretion.

Sunday Hours – All Sites During School Term

Pools to open on Sundays from 2pm – 6pm due to consistent low attendance across all sites from 6pm – 7pm.

Hours may be extended to 7:30pm under the same conditions as standard hour extensions.

Wednesday - Closed

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 4pm – 6:30pm

Saturdays and School Holidays: 2pm – 7pm

Sundays: 2pm – 6pm

No closure day during school holidays

Rainbow Outdoor Pool Opening Days and Hours

Tuesday – Closed

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 3:30pm – 6:30pm

Saturdays and School Holidays: 2pm – 7pm

Sundays: 2pm – 6pm

Dimboola Outdoor Pool Opening Days and Hours

Thursday – Closed

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 3:30pm – 6:30pm
