Required Services

This project will complete the landscaping to the Northern Swale at BMP to restore habitat and improve biodiversity. The works include to soil preparation and amelioration, mulching with scoria, placement of feature including rocks and logs in separable portion 1. Separable portion 2 will be to plant approximately 93,000 plants which will be contract grown and supplied by SMCT. Planting will occur once plants become available and sufficient time has passed post soil treatments.

The Head Contractor is to undertake all services required to deliver the Scope of Works contained in the RFT documents, including but not limited to:

• Provide all necessary trades, equipment and materials to complete the works;

• Prepare and submit a Construction Management Plan to the satisfaction of SMCT outlining the works, the staging requirements, public protection methodologies, environmental management and traffic management, both inside and outside the cemetery;

• Contractor to implement environmental controls during construction in accordance with local authority standards

• Provide the required Contractor information to enable SMCT to approve commencement of on-site works:

i. Undertake dilapidation surveys as agreed with the Superintendent

ii. Contractor Insurances

iii. SMCT Rapid Induction

• Supply and Installation of required site protection measures ie temporary fencing, signage, flagging, etc, all as agreed with the Superintendent;

• Contractor to provide a copy of all relevant compliance certificates associate with the design and installation of any temporary fencing.

• Slash existing vegetation in the swale

• Rip residual soil to a depth of 200mm and apply ameliorants

• Create ploughlines to the sloped area with the mounds on the downslope side

• Scoria Mulch to be placed on sloped area to a depth of 200mm

• Placement of rock and log features (supplied by SMCT)

• Planting of approx. 93,000 plants (supplied by SMCT)

• Contractor attend site and manage site meetings, conducted on a fortnightly basis or as agreed with the Superintendent;

• Undertake the worksin accordance with SCMT’s WHS&E requirements including induction into SCMT’s Rapid Induct system;

• Provide monthly reports, including key safety and environmental statistics

The Site is located at Bunurong Memorial Park at 790 Frankston - Dandenong Road in Dandenong South.
