The Project and its objectives:

The Project involves re-applying protective coating to the existing Bob Jane Stand roof steel structure to protect structural steelwork from corrosion and to prolong its service life. Delivery of required works as recommended in the Irwinconsult Pty Ltd. project advice notice.

All rusts flaked and peeling is to be thoroughly cleaned using a wire brush or power tool cleaning to the requirements defined in AS/ NZ 2312.1:2014 (Guide to the protection of structural steel against atmospheric corrosion using protective coatings Paint coatings). The surface of the steel should be free of mill scales, rust, and foreign particles.

The prepared steel is then to be re-coated with an appropriate protecting coating which is suitable to a weathered environment.

As per the specialist advise, to provide long term corrosion protection to steel work, 5 coats of paint works to be done following step by step procedure as recommended.

The project objectives are,

• To comply to engineers surveyed recommendation and give the essential layer of protection coat.

• To remove all the damaged paints, corrosive corners, and free for any other impurities.

• To raise the reliability of the structure and its lifespan.
