Tender Description

The City of Kwinana (Principal) is seeking a suitably experienced Consultant to provide architectural services and associated specialist aquatic centre design services to upgrade the Kwinana Recquatic Centre.

The City of Kwinana (City) has been successful in attaining a grant to refurbish and upgrade the Kwinana Recquatic Centre (a pool, gym and hard-court facility). The refurbishment and upgrade are intended to increase water space and improve the functionality of the gym such that facility capacity will meet the needs of the community for the next 20 to 25 years. Beyond this timeframe, it is expected that a new ultimate facility will be developed, possibly at a future regional open space.

In the interim we are seeking a solution that ensures our facilities meet the current and future needs of our growing community.

  • The pool area should be thoughtfully designed to prioritise user safety, enhance lifeguard supervision, and create an inviting, family-friendly environment.
  • An exceptional gym experience, designed with maximum visibility and supervision in mind. The main gym area should feel spacious, welcoming, and inspiring, encouraging members to engage and explore with ease.
  • Group fitness studios should be versatile, vibrant spaces equipped to adapt seamlessly as fitness trends evolve, ensuring we remain a leading, future-focused fitness destination.

It is proposed that these works are to be delivered under a design and construction delivery model. This may include the novation of the design team to the selected Contractor following a planned early contractor involvement period.
