Barwon Coast Committee of Management Inc invites suitably qualified businesses or companies to submit a tender for an the design and construction of beach access stairs at beach access points 7W COL065 Ocean Grove and 30W East THI135 Barwon Heads.

The project involves construction of stairways with intermediate landings compliant with the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards, consistent with Barwon Coast's expectations.

This project is a design, supply and Construct/install project where the tenderers shall allow for the following:-

• Design of the new beach access stairs from the main pathway to the beach.
• Provide preliminary design drawings for approval and construction details showing all timber sizes, construction details and the like prior to construction.
• Demolition and Removal of existing structures.
• Full construction and installation of new stairs in accordance with MACCA consents and Cultural Heritage Permits.
• Provide license for BCCM to use the stair details in other future stair redevelopments along the coastline that BCCM manage.
• Full Clean up and reinstatement of site.
• Other associated works contained within the project scope and as agreed by Barwon
• Coast. E.g. reinstatement of fencing, pathways, signage or other works associated with the access stairs.
• Provide as constructed drawings and certifications at the completion of construction.

Stairs to be compliant with all relevant standards, safety requirements, building codes and government legislation. E.g. AS 1428.1 2009 Design for access and mobility General requirements for access New building work, AS 1428.2, 1992 Design for access and mobility Enhanced and additional requirements Buildings and facilities.

Respondents should familiarise themselves with the recommendations of the Barwon Coast Access Audit 2025, for details of specific design requirements at the two locations.

The successful tenderer will be required to undertake a Cultural Heritage Induction and OH&S Site induction prior to commencement of works.
