Tender Description
Parts 1B of the Yanco Creek Modernisation project relate to the construction of Estuary Creek Regulator, McCrabbs Regulator and Spillway and Wanganella Swamp Access Culverts 1 & 2.
Project goals
Parts 1B of the Yanco Creek Modernisation project is part of the wider SLAM (Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism) Program to improve environmental water flows.
SDLAM seeks to address both current critical water shortages, as well as establish infrastructure and processes which ensure the future environmental and economic sustainability of the Murray-Darling Basin. The objective of the SDLAM Program is to achieve similar or improved environmental outcomes for rivers, wetlands and wildlife using less water as part of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. Project goals are to:
- improve the efficiency of how water is delivered (for example, building and improving water management structures
- deliver more efficient water use practises to save water for the environment
- remove constraints (and physical barriers) that impact the ability to deliver water into the Murray Darling Basin and where it is need most
Scope
As part of the SDLAM Acceleration Program, DCCEEW is delivering the Yanco Creek Modernisation project, which will upgrade infrastructure to enable smarter use of water in the Yanco Creek system in south-west NSW.
The works in the SDLAM – Yanco Creek Modernisation Project Part 1B are broken into 4 project parts:
1. Estuary Creek Regulator.
2. McCrabbs Regulator and Spillway.
3. Wanganella Swamp Access Culvert 1.
4. Wanganella Swamp Access Culvert 2.
