Tender Description

Parks Victoria multi-site Mobile Trade Expression of Interest

Parks Victoria is seeking suitably qualified Mobile Traders with excellent operational knowledge to provide a high-quality visitor experience at some of our most well-loved Parks.

This is a rare opportunity to secure a mobile trade permit in some of Victoria’s most unique landscapes visited by both domestic and international visitors.

Each location offers unique selling points:

  • Cape Conran attracts a peak of 3,000 daily visitors in summer and is adjacent to a large campground, with no competing food options within 17km.
  • Cape Schanck welcomes over 320,000 visitors annually and is a high-demand lighthouse and trailhead site with no current onsite services.
  • Lake Eildon provides access to over 200 campsites and summer holiday visitation exceeding 55,000, with opportunities to trade to both campers and day visitors.
  • The Redwoods, Mount Donna Buang, and Maroondah Reservoir Park offer a diverse, year-round visitor base including 100,000+ annual visitors at The Redwoods and peak snow visitation at Donna Buang reaching up to 3,000 daily during snow events.
  • Mount Baw Baw (Mt St Gwinear) is a family-friendly snow play destination with a highly captive market and no local food or beverage competition.
  • The You Yangs sees over 450,000 visitors annually and offers power and water access—an exception among the sites—making it highly viable for operators with minimal infrastructure setup.

Parks Victoria sites attract visitation year-round, requiring a commitment to daily operation during peak times, with the capacity to trade later in the summer months. Peak times could include the snow season, December/January school holidays, weekends and public holidays and Easter school holidays.

Key components to consider:

  • Providing a cup library or reusable cup/cutlery/plate options
  • Environment and sustainability – Circular economy principles
  • Fitting with Parks Victoria’s Healthy Parks, Healthy People Framework, offerings of healthy, organic food would be highly regarded, as would locally sourced food and produce.
