Tender Description

ABOUT THE TENDER:

The Badger building is a lab intensive 4 level masonry building built in 1959. The building is a mixed-use building comprising of teaching laboratories & workshops, offices, a lecture theatre, and a High-Performance Computing (HPC) centre. The thermal plant at Badger is located on the roof, and acts as a precinct-level central thermal plant with chilled and hot water interlinks feeding whole of adjacent Johnson building and part of the adjacent Jordan building. The Badger building has had infrastructure upgrades through the years but the base-building services are generally aged.

The Badger SAMP project is aimed at the strategic replacement of these aged base building services equipment, equipment that has reached end of their commercial life, and address any potential non-compliances identified on a like-for-like replacement basis with the aim of meeting the University's desired outcomes for this project.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

  • Co-ordinate overall project to ensure Phase is delivered to program.
  • Co-ordinate, chair and minute weekly consultant team progress meetings with University.
  • Update and issue drawings from “Tender Issue” to “Construction Issue” to encapsulate tender negotiations and other design changes arising from the Tender process or as required by the nature of the Works. The “Construction Issue” shall be documents incorporated in the Agreements with the accepted Tender Packages.
  • Confirm via Aconex that all contractors engaged on the project have satisfied the University’s induction procedures.
  • Prepare and issue Traffic Management Plans.
  • Undertake site investigation.
  • Prepare and issue asbestos management plan where applicable.
  • Prepare and issue Building Evacuation procedures for review and approval.
  • Carry out site inductions for consultants and UoA staff.
  • Co-ordinate all contract administration under the terms of the Works Contract(s) including:
  • OHS&W compliance
  • Requests for Information
  • Management of discrepancies and omissions in design documents
  • Site Instructions
  • Variation Requests and Orders
  • Programming, delays and extensions of time
  • Progress claims and certificates of payment
  • Notices.
  • Manage defects rectification.
  • During the DLP, manage scheduled maintenance of plant and equipment and issue progress reports on monthly basis via Project Manager.
  • At the 11th month of the Defects Liability Period the works are to be inspected by Principal Consultant, UoA Facilities Management, Principal Contractor and Project Manager to facilitate the hand-over of the project to the UoA maintenance team.

The University is not bound to accept the lowest priced Tender or all or any part of a Tender and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Tender process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit. Staff of the University are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the proposal. Late, verbal or emailed proposals will not be accepted.
