This procurement is for the obtainment of a community employment contractor to fulfill the 2025/2026 Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) contract with WDC. For the 25/26 FY, WDC has been offered funding of $220,000 for the placement of 27 18–24-year-olds into sustained employment in the Waitaki District.

While previous years have asked MTFJ Councils to focus on securing work for young NEETs (not in education, employment or training), this contract is now seeking MTFJ Councils to work largely (80%) with 18–24-year-olds who are currently on a jobseeker benefit, with a <20% focus on NEETs in the community.
