Expressions of interest are open for 1 RACP Fellow to join the new College Research Grants Committee (CRGC).
Description
Following approval by our Board, the College Research Committee and the Grants Advisory Committee have been merged to form the new College Research Grants Committee.
The CRGC has the functions and responsibilities of both committees, as set out in the College Research Committee By-law (PDF)
Responsibilities
- review funding applications across the different Award categories and determine the recipients
- advise on the use of the Endowment funds in the RACP Foundation to support medical research and educational initiatives of Fellows and trainees of the College in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand
- inform the direction and priorities of the College through strategic planning
- carry out the direction and priorities of the RACP Board
- form a sub-committee to review and approve internal College minimal/low risk ethics applications
Applicants should
- be a Fellow of a Division, Faculty or Chapter of the College and a current member of the College Research Committee
- have no current professional or personal connections that may give cause for a perceived conflict of interest with the College
- have experience with research and academic structures
Conditions
The CRCG meets in person twice a year and via videoconference as needed.
Successful candidates must be available to meet on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 November 2025, at the RACP Sydney offices to discuss the review of applications and finalise recipients of the RACP Foundation Research Awards for 2026.
