Indigo Shire Council are seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to replace the existing Box Gutter, outlets and make associated repairs. Experience working on historic buildings and working with traditional materials and construction methods is preferred.

The works will include:

- Preliminaries (see section 5. Preliminaries below)

- Contractor to provide suitable scaffold access for the duration of the works.

- Removal and disposal of existing box gutter and outlets

- Existing lead hanging flashings tp be retained unless noted otherwise.

- Cut, remove and dispose of existing slate as per drawings.

- Make repairs as necessary to supporting timberwork.

- Fabricate and install new Hot Dipped Galvanised Box Gutter to match the supporting timberwork and hanging flashing heights, subject to:

- New box gutter to be manufactured in max. lengths.

- Increase height of upstand and of lear towards the outlets to give an effective height of:

  - 115 mm at DP01

  - 130 mm at DP02

  - Lear width of 300mm minimum

- Replace existing lead hanging flashing in approx.. 1.2m section as noted on drawings. Install to the necessary brick course to enable the higher upstand, minimise extant render damage and make good render to match adjacent existing.

- Raise the lower edge of the slates as necessary to give 200mm freeboard length in the lear.

• New hanging flashings to be fabricated from 20kg/sqm lead sheet in maximum 900 mm long lengths.
• Check for overlength retained lead hanging flashings and where over 900mm long, cut the flashing vertically and install a new 20kg/sqm lead flashing, 200 long over the join, using traditional methods.
• Fabricate and install a new Hot Dipped Galvanised overflow outlets (scuppers) through the parapet, enlarge the outlet at DP01 & DP02 to 230 wide x 100 high.
