Provision of Plant Facility Cleaning Services
Project goals
Open market Expression of Interest (EOI) to identify qualified and capable contractors that meet the functions and specialisations required by Sydney Water (SW) leading to a Selective Request for Tender (RFT) for the provision of Plant Facility Cleaning Services.
Sydney Water (The Client’s ) objective is to provide comprehensive cleaning services on the treatment process units/ areas at the Client's 29 Water Resource Recovery Facilities (WRRFs), one Advanced Water Treatment Plant and one Purified Recycled Water Plant (PRW) that provide wastewater treatment, and two Water Filtration Plants (WFPs) that provides drinking water treatment, (“facilities” or “site”) ensuring the facilities are operating efficiently and safely, and maintaining the aesthetic appeal of these critical wastewater and water treatment infrastructure.
The cleaning services will encompass both routine meticulous cleaning of the treatment process units/areas to prevent the buildup of debris and contaminants, as well as more intensive cleaning as required, to address specific issues or maintain optimal operating conditions.
Scope
The Supplier must supply personnel, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that may be necessary to perform various process cleaning activities across the Client’s area of operations. The Services include:
- Cleaning tanks, clarifiers, screens, pits, bins and other process equipment.
- Use of High Pressure, Industrial hoses and Reclaimed Effluent (RE) hoses
- Working in and around water and sewage, including working at heights and confined space
- Clearing system blockages and chokes
- Cleaning and working in and around Chemicals
- Cleaning up after spills and wet weather events
- General Housekeeping around each facility
The Supplier must:
- Provide trained, qualified and competent personnel to operate the equipment and to perform the activities as per the requirement.
- In instances where formal qualifications, license or tickets are required to perform a task, the Supplier’s personnel undertaking such activities must be accredited and the Supplier must produce evidence of such accreditation on request by the Client’s site; and
- Keep and maintain proper and accurate records of required trade qualifications, licences and inductions for the Supplier’s personnel engaged to perform the Services
- Ensuring personnel use the Client’s Contractor Management System (e.g., Beakon) to complete Client’s for general induction and specific site inductions, and upload of the required tickets / qualifications/ licenses
