The City of Greater Geelong is progressing the design phase for the future development of a new open space and sporting reserve at 53 Gambier Street, Ocean Grove.

This tender relates specifically to the design stage. This phase will define detailed design documentation, construction staging, cost planning, and enable future funding opportunities for full delivery of the masterplan.

Project Objectives

The key objectives of the design phase are to:

Deliver a complete masterplan design, including:

• Detailed design and construction documentation for Stage 1

• Schematic design for elements suitable for Design & Construct (D&C) delivery.

• Completion of all necessary permits, including planning, building, and cultural heritage requirements.

• Completion of geotechnical investigations and site assessments to inform design and construction.

• Progress site services investigations and coordinate upgrades with relevant authorities

• Develop a cost and staging plan aligned with budget availability and masterplan requirements.

• Prepare a construction tender package for Stage 1 to maximise delivery under existing budget constraints.

• Engage and communicate with stakeholders throughout the design process.

Scope of Design Includes

• Two soccer pitches (Football Victoria standards).

• Informal training area.

• Multi-purpose pavilion (social/change rooms, public toilets).

• Car parking and traffic access works.

• Internal pedestrian pathways.

• Site drainage, stormwater, and service upgrades.

• General landscaping.

• Coordination for the integration of a district-level play space (to be delivered separately).

Please be advised that Council will conduct 2 Mandatory project briefing session on site on Tuesday 10th June at 10am & 2 pm Thursday 12 June 2025 at 53 Gambier Street, Ocean Grove 3226.

Council representatives will be present to discuss details regarding the project and the tender process. Refer to the Tender documents for site location details.
