The City of Port Phillip is looking for a skilled and responsive contractor to maintain all street trees and park trees across the municipality.

The goal is to preserve and enhance a healthy urban forest, ensuring community safety and improving resident satisfaction.

The current term of Council's existing tree maintenance contract ends on the 31 March 2026. Council is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced providers to provide services from 1 April 2026.

The Contract is for an initial 4-year period commencing on 1 April 2026 and concluding on 31 March 2030 with 1 option of up to a further 4 years at Council's sole discretion.

The objective of this Contract is to safely deliver Council's major maintenance program for Tree assets to:

a) Provide electrical line clearance in accordance with Councils Electric Line Clearance Management Plan (ELCMP).

b) Maintain the health, longevity and aesthetic appearance of trees to optimise the environmental and amenity value.

c) Proactively manage senescing populations of trees.

d) Provide clearance for vehicles and pedestrians utilising Council's Road and footpath network.

e) Proactively address structural defects and mitigate risk and failure potential of trees.

f) Formatively shape young trees to assist with establishment and reduce long-term maintenance requirements.

g) Enhance the amenity of the overall streetscape to align with community expectations.

h) Manage the urban forest well to ensure urban forestry diversity, increase canopy cover and provide a cooler and greener city for our communities.
