The Bureau currently has six quality management systems (QMS) that comply with the international Organization for Standardization (ISO) Quality Management Standard ISO 9001. The certified QMSs include:

1. Defence Weather Services

2. Meteorological Authority Office

3. Aviation Meteorological Services

4. Tsunami Warning Services

5. Energy and Resources Program

6. Operational Technology and Engineering

Additionally, the Bureau is in the final stages of developing another QMS for the Automatic Weather Station (AWS) Observing Network, which is now ready for certification. The Bureau will evaluate the capabilities, experiences, and quality of client services offered by potential ISO 9001 certification providers, as well as the qualifications and experience of their auditors. This assessment will help the Bureau understand the current marketplace and identify a certification body that appreciates and understands its role both nationally and internationally, as well as its commitment to achieving high-quality outcomes.
