Provision of Minor Asphalt Works Panel
Tender ID: 584973
Tender Details
Tender Description
The council seeks to engage asphalt contractors for ad-hoc maintenance work, including pothole repairs, patchwork, and the reinstatement of stormwater and service trenches, as well as minor asphalt works associated with existing or new traffic devices. These works are generally small-scale, with individual engagements varying based on necessity. The total annual value of these works is estimated to be between $300,000 and $500,000.
Most project sites will require less than 100 tonnes of hot mix asphalt for road patching or trench reinstatement, with the specific asphalt mix determined by the existing pavement conditions. Contractors will be engaged on an as-needed basis, with work allocated according to project requirements.
The typical estimated job size under this tender can range from as small as 5m² for minor patchwork to around 700m² for a road carriageway service trench, bike path and similar project. The typical depth of the new asphalt wearing course is 40mm in most cases. However, in some instances, a thinner or deeper asphalt layer of up to 100mm may be required depending on base materials, traffic conditions and other factors.
These works often require a quick turnaround, typically within 2 weeks of completing a pre-works walkover and obtaining a purchase order for the works by Council. Additionally, flexibility in rescheduling dates, if requested by the client, is essential.
