Tender Description
East Gippsland Shire Council invites tenders for the above contract.
Scope:
The Contractor must locate existing service conduits to properties prior to commencing works to determine if the proposed works will damage/ interfere with the service and advise the Superintendent and property owners of the affected property services. The Contractor must also make themselves aware of the location and depth of all services on the site to ensure that they are not damaged by the work carried out as part of this Contract.
Prior to commencing construction, the Contractor must make all necessary arrangements with appropriate authorities to locate and level all existing services and property connections in the vicinity of the works that may be required to be altered to match the new surface levels.
These services include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Water mains, Fireplugs and water services to individual properties
- Sewer mains, Manholes Lids and property services
- Stormwater drainage including any house drains
- Telstra cabling & Pits (phone 1100)
- Optus Cabling & Pits
- Underground electricity supply cabling and overhead electricity wires including a Permit to Work application from Ausnet Services.
SURVEY AND SET OUT
The contractor shall be responsible for all survey works necessary for the confirmation and setting out of the works, including manipulating supplied electronic data to suit works.
The following electronic files shall be available to the Contractor for survey set out:
- Three-dimension lip lines of the kerb and channel.
- Two-dimension stormwater centreline.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
The Contractor shall plan, establish and maintain an Environmental Management System to cover all work under the contract. This Environmental Management System shall consider, but is not necessarily confined to, air pollution, water pollution, noise, waste, soil contamination, sediment control and the preservation of habitat and identified historic and archaeological sites.
EARTHWORKS
Earthworks are required for the road and pavement formation as shown on the drawings. All surplus excavations are to be removed and disposed of off-site.
KERB AND CHANNEL BEDDING
Bedding shall be in accordance of clause 12.4 of the Contract General Specifications, except as provided herein. The bedding shall consist of at least 75mm thickness of approved granular material which shall be compacted by watering and rolling or tamping until 96% of the maximum dry density as determined by the modified A.A.S.H.O. test method has been obtained. The bedding shall extend at least 150mm behind the back of kerb. No concrete shall be placed until the bedding has been approved by the superintendent.
ROADS, FOOTPATHS & DRIVEWAYS
The Contractor is responsible for the replacement of all pavements removed or damaged as a result of these works.
The proposed alignment set-out for the lip of kerb for intersection is shown on the drawings.
The road pavement consists of: type 2.3 road base subbase, type 2.1 road base course and 50mm AC 14 wearing course.
Two-metre-wide chases, 40mm deep are to be cut into the existing pavement of the intersecting roads. The pavement against existing kerb and channel is to be profiled to allow for road resheeting.
Prior to resheeting works, the Contractor shall repair potholes, and fill corrugated areas as part of the regulation work to ensure that these defects do not re-occur within the resheet.
Kerbing consists of B2 Industrial concrete kerbs and Layback.
Late or manual submissions will not be accepted, Contractors are to ensure sufficient time is allowed for upload.
Check documents for accuracy prior to upload, completed pricing schedule must be uploaded for submission to be deemed conforming.
