The opportunity:
WVPHN invites suitably qualified and experienced organisations, with the capability and capacity to deliver at least one, and up to two, Specialist Intellectual Disability (SID) Integrator Role(s) within the WVPHN Region, to submit a tender response.
The SID Integrators will play a critical role in developing and delivering a PCEP training and support package to the primary care sector.
The role is aimed at enhancing capacity and capability of general practices and primary care providers to understand and action quality care for people with intellectual disability. It also aims to enhance coordination and integration of primary care services with specialist intellectual disability health services.
The SID Integrator will deliver training and support activities, including:
• Running local education programs for primary health care services about enhancing health care for people with intellectual disability.
• Providing a consultancy resource to primary health care services, within the WVPHN region.
• Establishing care pathways to specialised intellectual disability health services.
• Undertaking practice visits to GPs and other primary health care providers to support them in providing better care for people with intellectual disability; and
• Promoting quality general practice for people with intellectual disability.
Given the highly specialised nature of the work, organisations have the option to tender for the provision of SID Integrator services for either one or two available roles (proposed as 0.8 – full time FTE). Please make clear in your proposal whether you are applying to offer one or two SID Integrator positions, and which of the following sub-regions that these positions will deliver services to:
• Geelong – Otway Great South Coast
• Ballarat Goldfields Wimmera Grampians
It is a requirement of the service to be willing at times, to work outside of normal business hours to facilitate the PCEP training and support package to primary care practices. Travel, and accommodation may also be required at times to service the region. Extended hours (up to 8pm weekdays) may be required for certain primary care professionals to attend training.
The successful Provider(s) will be offered a service agreement contract, with an establishment phase applying from 30 June – 1 September 2025, and to be operational (delivering training, and supporting referrals) from 1 September 2025. The contract end date is 30 June 2026 (corresponding with the end date of the PCEP Pilot Project). It is not currently known whether the PCEP Pilot Project will be extended by the Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC).
WVPHN encourages joint ventures, partnerships and sub-contractor relationships with other third parties for this RFP.
