Swan Hill Rural City Council is seeking submissions from experienced urban greening specialists, environmental planners and waterway restoration experts to develop the Little Murray Urban Frontage Rehabilitation Landscape Masterplan.

The aim of this masterplan is to improve the condition and amenity of the Little Murray frontage between the downstream junction with the Murray River in Swan Hill and the Pental Island Bridge. The project will focus on mapping and assessing vegetation and cultural heritage, with a strong emphasis on replanting indigenous species, enhancing ecological outcomes and fostering community cohesion.

The key components of the plan include ecological restoration through weed removal, pest management and revegetation with native species. Public amenity improvements will include pathways, lighting, a viewing platform, interpretive boards, seating, traffic management and drinking water fountains. Cultural and heritage recognition will be strengthened by fostering connections with Traditional Owners and highlighting local cultural values.
