Tender Description
Indigo Shire Council are seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to develop signage guidelines to assist council staff in selecting and implementing signage for any council-owned asset, place/precinct, or project and provide guidance to community-delivered signage.
The guidelines will include a signage hierarchy, designed templates as well as guidance for internal and external approval processes and recommendations for an implementation plan, including options for a move to digital signage where applicable.
The signage guidelines need to ensure a consistent and uniform approach to signage in terms of style, font, colour, messaging, and overall branding, while respecting the Shire’s unique heritage and the individual identities of different towns, precincts and places.
The guidelines need to ensure that all signage owned and managed by Council is:

- Easy to understand: Clear and concise messaging for all users.
- Fit for purpose: Appropriate for the intended use and location.
- Content: Information is appropriate and correct.
- Respectful of individual identities of different towns, precincts and places in the shire.
- Acknowledgement of Country: Includes an Acknowledgement of Country to recognise the traditional custodians of the land.
- Non-contributory to visual clutter: Avoids excessive or unnecessary signage.
- Materiality/ Construction: robust, vandal-proof, durable, low maintenance and affordable.
