The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS, also ‘the department’) leads the delivery of justice services in Victoria. The department is committed to delivering a safe, secure, and humane corrections system and promotes community safety through effective management of offenders and provision of opportunities for rehabilitation and reparation.

Community Safety Building Authority, DJCS

The Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) has been established to design, procure, build, and upgrade the infrastructure needed to keep communities safe.

CSBA provides end-to-end project management and delivery of Victoria’s new prisons, youth justice centres, court and custody facilities, emergency services facilities and public safety measures on behalf of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

Provision of Services

The Department is seeking the services of a Head Contractor, who is registered on the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) pre-qualified supplier under the New Commercial Construction category, to deliver the new CFA The Basin Fire Station under the CSBA Fire Services portfolio of works.This contract of works, including DLP, is anticipated to span two (2) years.Tenderers are to provide a tender for the CFA The Basin fire station exclusively. CSBA will review the tender for value for money and sound understanding and capacity to deliver the scope of works.

Summary of Scope of Works

The scope of works will entail the construction delivery of a 3-Bay Volunteer Fire Station at 5R Basin-Olinda Rd, The Basin VIC 3154.

The new The Basin Fire Station shall include:

• 3 No. X 12m deep drive-through motor bays fitted with front bi-fold doors and rear roller shutter doors, and external concrete aprons front and rear with direct access to the road frontage.

• Operational support areas including Workshop, Storeroom, Turn Out Area, Laundry/ Drying area, and Breathing Apparatus Maintenance Room.

• 2 No. Offices

• Multipurpose Room, Kitchen and Chair Store

• Ambulant Toilets and Unisex Accessible Toilet to CFA & BCA requirements

• CFA ICT/Comms Alcove

• Provision of site utility services: power, telecom services, water, sewer, and stormwater drainage

• Road access including any necessary road modifications, line marking and signage

• Bioretention basin and landscaping works

• Site fencing, truck turning area within site and car parking

• Concrete training yard area, crushed rock car parking bays and pedestrian footpaths.

• Hose Drying Tower (HDT)

• 4 Bay External Storage Shed
