The opportunity

An Expression of Interest (EOI) process is being conducted for the future lease of an existing built asset and surrounds, referred to in this document as the Mount Dandenong Observatory. Parks Victoria is seeking a high-quality operator with both the vision and the capacity to invest in the Mount Dandenong Observatory site to ensure it remains a contemporary and viable year-round food and beverage tourism destination.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a vision for the site’s potential in the context of its existing facilities and statutory planning considerations, including but not limited to the Heritage Overlay and the Significant Landscape overlay on the site.

Key elements of this Expression of Interest include:

• The opportunity to invest in and refresh a landmark tourist destination

• Potential for the consideration of complementary activities within the Heritage Overlay area (HO 246)

• Available lease term of up to 21 years
