Tender Description

SCOPE OF WORKS

Glenelg Shire Council is seeking submissions from suitably qualified contractors to complete various works to refurbish the Public Amenities located at Bridgewater Beach. The refurbishment aims to make improvements to the amenities that will make the amenities more appealing to all users.

We request that items be quoted in accordance with the table provided in the quote schedule document and invite contractors to quote on one or multiple items.

We would like works to be completed by 30 June 2025. We will however consider part of the works to be completed after this date. Respondents are asked to clearly detail those works that can be completed by 30 June 2025, and those works that will be completed later – with details of what those completion dates will be. Please provide the reason for those works that cannot be completed by the 30 June 2025.

Site inspections are available. Please contact the Project Manager after Tuesday 15th April 2025. 

External

  • Replacement of temporary retaining fence with more aesthetically appealing fence or screen. Low maintenance is preferred. Please provide images of and dimensions of the proposed fence.
  • Relocation of the existing outdoor shower to a space that is easier to access and not blocking a footpath.
  • Installation of a drinking fountain with dog drinking bowl. brand and specifications of drinking fountain to be included in quote.
  • Repaint of the exterior.
  • Roof – replacement of existing laser light panels to allow more natural light.
  • Provision of hot water to male, female and disabled showers, as this is a public space a tempering valve will be required.

Internal

  • Repaint/Resurface of all floors. Floors are to be repainted or resurfaced in a product that is nonslip, low maintenance and durable. Epoxy or Monotek are possible solutions. Please provide details of recommended product
  • Installation of hot and cold taps or mixers in existing showers.
  • Installation of shower cubicles to be in male and female, cubicles to have space for changing and storing clothes and towels while showering.
  • Replacement of existing basins and mirrors, multiple basins to be installed if space permits. Mirrors to be anti-vandal solution. Design and location of basins and mirrors to be reflected in quote.
  • Replacement of toilet cubicle doors to match shower cubicles.
  • Repaint of internal walls.

Disabled Toilet

  • Replacement of door with appropriate external door.
  • Installations of hot/cold mixer tap at a level that can be reached from sitting and standing and height adjustable shower head.
  • Replacement of basin with DDA compliant basin.
  • Replacement of toilet with DDA compliant toilet with back rest and handrails.
  • Replacement of shower bench with new fold down bench.

**All works in disabled space must be DDA compliant

All works will need to be in line with all legal, regulatory and statutory requirements.
