Tender Description

This project is divided into two works packages.

Works Package 1: technical Lifts Inspection and Reporting

Carry out a technical review of the 9 lifts currently installed on State Sport Centers Trust sites and to provide consulting services for the design, documentation, tendering and contract administration of the works required to improve the condition, compliance and reliability of the nine lifts located at the State Sport Centers Trust facilities.

Works Package 2: Detailed Assessment and Consultancy for Bob Jane Lift.

Perform a detailed assessment of shared services-lift (asset FA100066) Bob Jane Stand. This includes full consultancy for delivery of lift replacement including tender development, tender review and construction administration.

The State Sport Centers Trust has 10 lifts requiring Inspection and Reporting.

• 3 x lifts at the State Netball and Hockey Centre

• 3 x lifts at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre

• 3 x lifts at the Lakeside Stadium

• 1 x lifts at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatics Centre (Sports House)

additionally, the Lakeside Athletics Field Bob Jane Stand lift requires full consultancy for lift replacement.

Background-

The Bob Jane Lift next to Gate 2 installed in 2012, is an external lift, used to transport patrons from the ground floor to the top of the Bob Jane Grandstand. This lift is also used as an accessibility lift for Lakeside Stadium.

Issues-

In the last 12 months this lift has needed 8 service call outs. The most recent faults from technicians found are below:

• Lift stopped on GF – Cleaned GF doors and returned lift to service q

• Leaves stuck in door causing doors to timeout

• Front car door egress cord too tight potentially holding up landing locks.

• Door issue, home lift doors for outside starting to have some serious ware.

The most common issue tends to be debris caught in the lift door which causes the lift to timeout and turn off. We then call out our technicians to come onsite to get it working again.

However, as you can see it is never really the same issue when it fails, making it very difficult for our technicians to keep running.

As this lift is used as an accessibility lift, it is imperative that it is reliable. If we have a patron with a disability needing to access the grandstand, this is the lift they need to access.
