Ahead of a major infrastructure replacement project, some underlying reconfigurations are required to our network.

Current configuration consists of:

• 2x on-premises 2019 Domain Controllers (DHCP and DNS)
• 2x on-premises Fortigate 101Fs (HA) (to be replaced as part of the above-mentioned infrastructure replacement projects)
• Azure Fortigate VM (S2S VPN)
• Azure DNS (AO VPN)

Configurations to be audited, changes proposed, endorsed and implemented:

• DHCP and DNS services migration from an on-premises AD server, preferably to either a cloud service or a network appliance
• DHCP and DNS Cleanup

       -DHCP Scopes cleanup (retirements and re-assignments)

       -DNS Records cleanup

• Rearchitecting zoning for evolved network elements (revisit network segregations)
• Firewall rules
• Foundational on-premises/cloud architecture approach, which could include new VMs on-premises or in the cloud
