Expressions of interest are open for Basic Trainees (Adult Internal Medicine) from Australia to join the Adult Internal Medicine Basic Training (AIM BT) Committee.
The AIM BT Committee seeks expressions of interest for a Basic Trainee from Australia to join the Adult Internal Medicine Division Basic Training Committee (the Committee).
The Committee’s purpose is to oversee the Adult Internal Medicine Division Basic Training program nationally. More information is available in the Terms of Reference (TOR).
The College recognises that trainees, as future Fellows of the College, have a very important role in the College’s training programs. As such, the College includes trainees in all aspects of its complex governance as representatives of their fellow trainees.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of Trainee Representatives include but are not limited to:
- Commitment to regular attendance at Committee meetings
- Providing a trainee perspective on issues of concern
- Representing trainees’ interests
- Advocating on behalf of trainees.
The term of office is for three years. The AIM BT Committee meets throughout the year, with four videoconferences, one face-to-face meeting on-site (Sydney), and additional meetings as required.
The representative will need to be available to attend the majority of these meetings and provide a Basic Trainee perspective. Travel and accommodation expenses will be provided for face-to-face meetings for out-of-town committee members as per the RACP Travel Policy.
