Tender Description
Expressions of interest are open for a representative to join the AFPHM Council as a Māori representative.
The AFPHM Council has responsibility for the AFPHM educational and Continuing Professional Development Programs, policy and advocacy pertaining to Public Health Medicine, and a leadership and supportive role for Fellows and Trainees.
AFPHM Council members report to the AFPHM Council and are accountable to the AFPHM.
The AFPHM By-laws guide the AFPHM Council’s operations, responsibilities and functions.
The successful candidate must:
- be a medical practitioner and/or public health practitioner who is Māori
- be resident in Aotearoa New Zealand
- be fully conversant with the RACP’s Constitution, AFPHM By-laws, the RACP Strategic Plan, and the AFPHM strategic and business plans
- have demonstrated experience in leadership and understanding of governance
- have demonstrated understanding of the medical education environment
- possess an attitude of cooperation and positivity and high standards of ethical behaviour
- have strong administrative and organisational skills
- have a commitment to quality assurance and continuous development
