Somerset Regional Council (SRC) is seeking to engage an appropriately experienced Contractor (incorporating a team of all necessary sub-consultants and sub-contractors) for the provision of the full range of design and construction services required for the detailed design and construction of the Toogoolawah Swimming Pool Upgrade (TSPU).

The facility is located at Factory Road, Toogoolawah. It is understood to have originally opened in 1975 and currently consists of a 25m lap pool and toddler/wading pool; with a splashpad/waterplay area being constructed in 2022.

SRC has previously undertaken an options analysis of the current facility and in turn developed a detailed concept design package (‘The Concept’) for the project. The project is expected to take the form of a staged redevelopment, with delivery of this phase to consist of the following:

- Stage 1:

New compliant 25 m x 8-lane lap pool with associated plant room and removal of wading pool. Works for Stage 1 of the project will include demolition of the existing 25m pool, wading pool, concourses, equipment room structure, shade structure and drawoff tank, with construction of the new 25m x 8 lane lap pool including balance tank and disabled access ramp, filtration plant, heating plant and sanitation system; a new equipment room and driveway; a new roof structure over the pool and other shade sail structures to grassed areas; new concourses with new stairway and ramp accessing the gym; landscaping and mains services where required.

All conforming tenders must comply with this concept design and must include all works indicated.

Tenderers are also to be aware that Council will be constructing an extension to the existing Toogoolawah Community Gym (TCG) onsite which will be delivered by others, with completion likely to follow after the commencement of the TSPU. Details regarding site access and possession of site limits will be provided at the mandatory site visit for this tender.

A mandatory site visit is required for all tenderers with registration of attendance in accordance with Part 3 of this Request for Tender.
