GWMWater is an innovative Victorian Water Corporation providing, managing, operating and protecting water supply and wastewater systems within the Grampians, Wimmera and Mallee regions.
GWMWater will soon be seeking tenders for the Design and Construction of BTM BESS (Stage 1) project.
The works will include:
- design and construction of BTM BESS infrastructure at four (4) GWMWater facility sites (BESS storage capacities 100 – 600 kWh);
- integration of the BESS with existing on-site PV generation systems to operate as fully-integrated market-deployable distributed energy resources (DER);
- establishment of on-site DER control systems able to operate within National Electricity Market (NEM) including the provision of frequency control ancillary services (FCAS);
- system testing and commissioning; and
- 24-month system maintenance and performance monitoring.
GWMWater intends to commence an Invitation to Tender (ITT) process to engage a suitable contractor to undertake the works and complete the system commissioning by mid-2025, followed by a 24-month system maintenance and performance monitoring period.
Non-compulsory online tender briefing and pre-tender site visit will be organised for entities who are interested to tender for the project. Attendance at these sessions will not be a prerequisite to submitting a conforming tender. The dates will be stated in the released tender documents.
This will be a publicly advertised ITT process to be administered on the Buying for Victoria portal, which is planned to formally commence in October 2024.
GWMWater will be seeking proposals from suitably qualified contractors, who have technical capabilities and extensive experience in renewable energy projects to establish the required BESS & DER infrastructure with automated operation.
To ensure a transparent, fair and equitable process, GWMWater will not be responding to enquiries for this ITT until it is publicly released to the market.
