Tender Description
The Waterways and Wetlands Rubbish Removal Service aims to improve and maintain the amenity of the Region’s waterways through rubbish removal, education and community engagement. The Waterways Rubbish Removal Service supports this program through the targeted collection of rubbish to reduce the negative impacts on the environment and water quality of the waterways. Bundaberg Regional Council, as a Reef Guardian Council, seeks to proactively remove rubbish and reduce the overall volume of rubbish entering the ocean and becoming harmful marine debris.
Whilst rubbish entering the waterways is a continuing problem, Council recognises that this program aims to reduce the volume of rubbish within the waterways. Rubbish may remain present in the environment due to the difficulty and constraints of removal.
