- support CSNSW’s offender case management by delivering evidence-based services and address a clients’ criminogenic needs
- facilitate access to culturally and gender-appropriate services and opportunities
- increase program and treatment participation and completion
- collaborate with other human service agencies to enhance offender access to services
- improve community safety
- improve legal order completion rates.
Scope
The Transitional Supported Accommodation (TSA) program will provide supported post-release accommodation for up to 12 weeks to approx 16 eligible offenders per year. A TSA Service Provider will:
- work in partnership with CSNSW & assist with a broad range of casework activities
- have an appropriate residential facility to deliver the program & be responsible for all associated outgoings
- engage suitably trained & experience staff to work with clients with complex needs
This group of clients experience many barriers in accessing stable housing. It is recognised that a program like TSA can assist clients to sustain tenancies & address risk factors for both homelessness & re-offending. Providing targeted support services can contribute to improved client outcomes & have a positive impact on adjustment to community life.
The TSA can be available to anyone who has recently left custody, however given the over-representation of Aboriginal people in custody, it is important & necessary for service providers to possess the capability & capacity to provide a culturally responsive service.
This market sounding will investigate the market & provide an opportunity to ensure the sector are advised of this program & market feasibility is investigated.
