Leak Detection Services

Gippsland Water is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Service Provider who is willing to work collaboratively with us to provide leak detection services on potable reticulation water mains and all property services. The contract will be for proactive leak detection of select water supply systems to identify and control the rate of background leakage occurring. The program will seek to identify and locate leaking and faulty service connections and other assets that are having an impact on levels of non-revenue water to minimise water loss. The work will assist in the reduction of non-revenue water and provide better customer service outcomes.

The program will consist of both planned active leak detection survey works in areas with a likelihood of high levels of water loss and priority reactive work where a known mains leak exists but cannot be identified. Planned active leak detection survey works shall consist of set length (kilometres) of reticulation, distribution and transfer mains. To assist with repair planning and resource management, it is preferred that the works are completed throughout the year rather than over a short period of time. The priority reactive leak detection work will be split into categories of mobilisation time, depending on the urgency and customer service impact.

This will initially be for a two (2) year trial period with an option to extend the contract for a further period of up to two (2) years.
