DEF8191 – Defence Fuel Resilience Program - Tranche 2 Facilities – Head Contract 4 – Victoria: Puckapunyal

⁠⁠⁠The works include Puckapunyal Military Area, which is located approximately 115kms North of Melbourne. Used for training exercises and operational requirements with a focus on supporting artillery, infantry and armoured divisions.

The scope of the new DFI(G) at Puckapunyal Military Area includes the following:

1. Establishment of DFI(G) with 300,000L above-ground self-bunded storage tanks and support facilities

2. Decommissioning and remediation of two existing DFI(G); and

3. A facility building located to the south adjacent to the proposed DFI(G). The facility is to provide an Office and Ablutions.

The works at Army Testing Services (ATS) Monegeetta, which is located approximately 60kms North-West of Melbourne. Used for testing the capabilities of vehicles, including light vehicles like 4WDs, up to heavy vehicles such as trucks, tanks etc.

The scope of the new DFI(G) at ATS Monegeetta includes the following:

1. Establishment of DFI(G) with two 10,000L diesel (normal and with additive) self-bunded storage tanks; and

2. Decommissioning, demolition, and site remediation of existing DFI(G).

The works at Joint Proof and Experimental Unit (JPEU) Port Wakefield, which is located 100kms North-West of Adelaide. Used to test the capability of vehicles primarily armoured and self-propelled artillery.

The scope of the new DFI(G) JPEU Port Wakefield includes the following:

1. Provide for the decommissioning of the existing 4.5kL AST and ULP infrastructure (11.8kL), inclusive of all associated remediation works.

2. Provide for the establishment of a new 15kL DFI-G with all associated equipment, controls and infrastructure as required by DPM standards; and

3. The general design must be a Type 1 DFI(G) standard design with one 15kL diesel tank:

– There must be a single bowser capable of 40 and 80 lpm.

– There must be a single-lane forecourt; and

– There will not be a forecourt cover.
