This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
The Department of Home Affairs is conducting a panel approach to procure a security expert to provide expert advisory services regarding advanced telecommunications network security. This expert advice is necessary to ensure the Department is able to deliver the Government’s objectives under the 2021-22 Budget Digital Economy Strategy (the Strategy). The Strategy aims to support the security and resilience of technologies that will underpin critical services. Government investment aims to capture the opportunities and address the risks posed by critical technologies.
Specifically, the Department was provided with funding of $4.5 million over four years from 2021-22 to engage Specialist Contractors, including an expert advisor. The Department is unable to carry out the functions expected of the expert advisor due to the highly technical nature of the telecommunications sector and the need to have a substantial tenure of industry experience and contacts.
