Defence Mission Engineering Support

⁠⁠⁠Defence Mission Engineering Support includes the development and collaborative design of mission threads and related artefacts with the Groups and Services, collaborative workshops/consultative meetings, compilation of artefacts for presentation to Senior Defence Committees, creation of artefacts supporting experimentation, test & evaluation of mission threads, and various other documents, artefacts, and materials required in the briefing, direction, and collaborative approach to implementing a mission engineering approach.

The successful tenderer/s will be expected to provide support services to enable establishment of mission engineering as standard business in VCDF Group and Defence more broadly. The required services are as follows:

1. Refinement of current Functional Mission Designs (FMD) based on demonstrated experience and proficiency in systems engineering and/or military planning.
2. Development of PMDs for each FMD, including definition of System of Systems architecture and evolved Operational Needs and Requirements.
3. Support implementation of mission solutions through collaborative co-design activities with Capability Managers (CMs) and Delivery Groups.
4. Write high-level capability documentation that ensures JFA direction is executable by CMs and Delivery Groups.
5. Application of contemporary analytical methods relevant to Mission Engineering (trade-off analysis, model-based systems engineering, mission metrics development etc).
6. Contribute to the evolution of the mission and digital engineering process into a mature Defence process, integral to force design and capability development.
7. Support the capture and configuration management of mission engineering
