Expressions of Interest - Construction of the Swan Hill Tourism Cultural Hub

⁠⁠⁠Swan Hill Rural City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably experienced and qualified contractors to deliver the construction of a new Tourism and Cultural Hub building at the Pioneer Settlement, Swan Hill Victoria 3585.

The scope of works for the Tourism and Cultural Hub project involves the:

• Construction, fit-out and commissioning of a new purpose built Tourism and Cultural Hub building including a dedicated space for Indigenous Cultural Activity, customer services, Visitor Information Services plus offices, meeting room, multi-purpose educational space, kitchen and staff and public toilets.

• Management of associated civil works and external works including but not limited to earthworks, landscaping, storm water, lighting, access pathways

Background information / Compatibility requirements

Council has identified a need for a new purpose-built entry for Pioneer Settlement to enhance tourism and vitality.

Designed to complement the existing heritage buildings and places at the Pioneer Settlement, the one storey building will bring together a new entrance to the Pioneer Settlement, Visitor Information Centre and Aboriginal Cultural space.

The new Tourism and Cultural Hub building will:

• create a contemporary new building that enhances the character of the Pioneer Settlement;

• enhance visitor engagement;

• provide a welcoming space where locals and visitors can learn about First Nations peoples and their culture, and

• enhance liveability outcomes for our community.

Council has engaged a design consultant to provide comprehensive design services for the works. Detailed designs are due to be completed late June 2024.
