The Aotearoa NZ AFPHM Committee is seeking expressions of interest from AFPHM trainees residing in Aotearoa NZ.
Kaupapa o te Komiti | Purpose of the Committee
The Aotearoa NZ Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine Committee aims to support the professional careers of Fellows and Trainees in Aotearoa NZ.
Working with appropriate College Bodies, and staff in relation to medical education, policy and advocacy, Fellowship, and medical workforce to promote and support the practice of Public Health Medicine in the Aotearoa NZ context.
There is vacancy for
- One Trainee member. Aotearoa New Zealand resident undertaking public health training

Takohanga | Responsibilities
As the Aotearoa NZ Trainee member of the Committee, you will also sit on the AFPHM Trainee Committee.
Meetings
- Both Committees meet a maximum of 4 times a year.
- One hui may be kanohi ki te kanohi | face to face, (the Aotearoa NZ AFPHM Committee in Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington, the AFPHM Trainees Committee in Sydney Australia.)
- If travel is required costs are covered by the RACP in accordance with the RACP Travel Policy (PDF).
- All remaining meetings (up to 3) would be hui-ā-ataata | zooms.
Most of the mahi will occur during scheduled hui. With approximately an hour pre-reading required for meetings. Members may also be asked to respond to communication out of session.

Paearu Mātauranga, Paearu Wheako | Knowledge and Experience Criteria
- Be a AFPHM Trainee, who resides in Aotearoa NZ
- High level communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to build positive partnerships.
- Computer literate with access to a computer.
- Ability and capacity to prepare appropriately and diligently for participation in RACP activities.
